While the state health authorities raised concerns over the community transmissions, Visakhapatnam on Friday registered the fourth positive case in the city. Stating that the total number of infected people in the state rose to 12, the Medical and Health Department released the latest bulletin confirming the cases.
The bulletin stated that the patient got into contact with the foreign returnee on 17 March. Eventually, he got admitted to a hospital on 21 March and has been kept in isolation since then. It further informed that the results of 55 samples are currently awaited across the state.
According to the officials, the person has been identified as a contact of patient no 7 who had returned to Vizag from Birmingham. The patient reportedly developed symptoms after he came into contact with the patient no 7 on March 17th after which he was kept in isolation. Four days later on Friday, his blood sample tested positive for the virus.
